South Street Dental is a well established, family-run five surgery mixed dental practice, with an in-house dental lab and 14 members of staff.   The practice also offer Orthodontic work to both private and NHS patients.

"When COVID-19 forced us to close, we realised we needed to improve how we communicate with patients and Carestream R4 didn't have much scope to do help with this.   There was also very limited potential for remote working.  When we started to look at alternative management software systems, it hit  home that we were paying a lot of money for quite a poor service".

Why did you choose Dentally?

Dentally was suggested to me by the team who helped design and create our new practice website. The Dentally website has lots of informative videos and the information was concise. Pricing was clear and their team were very proactive in arranging a demo. 

The main things that attracted us to Dentally were:

  • Incorporates the NHS Scotland system, including prior approvals, for dentists and our Orthodontist.

  • Remote working capability

  • Patient Portal

  • Significantly cheaper than Carestream R4

  • Ability to text and email patients directly from their records and these are logged.

  • Very easy to run detailed reports

How did your team find the onboarding process?

Training was well presented and we had the opportunity to have orthodontic specific training.  Our staff all thought the Sandbox was a brilliant tool and we still use it to help us problem solve.

What do you see as the key benefits of Dentally?
  • Easy to use and navigate

  • Good value for money

  • Excellent customer services and the online chat facility is great!

  • Dentally improves our ability to communicate with patients, especially in light of COVID; remote working, web-based consultations and the integrated use of email and text messages.

  • The Patient Portal is a fantastic tool allowing patients to complete some task at home freeing up surgery time.

During the Pandemic, how have the team found working with cloud-based software like Dentally?

This is one of the main reasons we chose to change our system and it works really well.
