Our updated chart has been designed with dentists, for dentists! We have been working closely with practitioners over the last few months to build a charting workflow that works the way you do. The result? A new, condensed mixed dentition view that’s cleaner, faster and now our recommended way to chart.

What’s Changed?

This isn’t just a cosmetic update. It’s a smarter charting experience built for the way you actually work, and encompasses multiple new tools to take your charting experience to the next level.

✨ Predictive Dentition

We started by introducing predictive dentition. Using patient age and context, Dentally now suggests likely dentition states. This small-but-mighty change can save minutes per patient and is proving especially helpful for nurses and trainees.

“We are loving the predictive dentition - it saves so much time and
is also helping with charting for our trainee nurses here at the practice.”

✨ Enhanced Socket Selection

Next, we tackled the repetitive base charting elements. Now when you need to record a partially erupted molar or add a missing deciduous tooth, our improved socket selection lets you do that by just clicking on the desired tooth.

✨ Condensed Mixed Dentition

Finally, we reduced the number of rows, decluttered the view, and made it easier to see everything at a glance by combining both the permanent dentition and deciduous dentition onto just two rows!  This means less scrolling, less clicking, less confusion — and more time focused on the patient in front of you.

💡 Why We're Recommending This Going Forward

We’re not just offering this as an option — we’re recommending it as the best way to chart moving forward. It’s faster. It’s clearer. It’s built for modern clinical teams who want tools that keep up with their pace and precision.

It’s available in app already so now is a great time to explore what’s new and see how it fits into your day-to-day. Whether you're a nurse, dentist, or trainee, these features were designed to improve your clinical workflow.
